About Susan Mendelson
Susan Mendelson is a licensed social worker with a Master's Degree in Social Work from Fordham University, and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Kean University.  She is a board member of the Union County Educational Services Foundation, as well as a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), CHADD, and the New Jersey Association of School Social Workers (NJASSW).  Ms. Mendelson has experience in the New Jersey public school system working with children in regular and special education, in grades Kindergarten through High School. She is also an adjunct professor at Kean University. 

Ms. Mendelson currently has a private practice specializing in social skills for children, located in Mountainside, New Jersey.  The format of teaching is in the group arena,with individual sessions provided on an as needed basis.  The clients are placed with peers according to age and abilities, not by disability or presenting problem.  Close contact with families, teachers, classroom aides, and related service providers is strongly encouraged. Ms. Mendelson also attends IEP meetings, when requested, and provides workshops for teachers and parents. Susan is also a consultant to several school districts working with the students and staff in the area of social skills.
